Value Investing is an investment philosophy pioneered by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd. It is focused on looking for companies that are undervalued by the market. As such, it involves buying companies that have low Price-to-Earnings, Price-to-Book Value and high dividend yields.
3. What is Fundamental Analysis?
Fundamental Analysis refers to analyzing the financial statements of a company, the industry and the overall economy. This analysis aims to determine the intrinsic value of the company to be compared with the market price.
4. What is Technical Analysis?
Technical Analysis refers to studying historical price movements and volume of a certain company and predicting the next move based on these data. This analysis aims to find the best entry and exit points in a stock for an optimal return.
5. How do I open an Account?
Interested applicants may visit our office at 2702-C, 27/F East Tower, Philippine Stock Exchange Centre, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, M.M., Philippines.
6. What are the requirements of opening an account?
The requirements for opening an account are:
- For Filipino Resident
- Accomplished Customer Account Information Form along with the Signature Specimen Card and Signed Terms and Condition.
- Any of the two (2) following government issued Identification cards:
- Driver's License
- Passport
- SSS/GSIS ID
- Senior Citizen's Card
- Voter's ID
- Government office ID
- Philhealth Card
- Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ID
- Seaman's Book
- Police or NBI Clearance
- For Resident Non-Filipinos
- Accomplished Customer Account Information Form along with the Signature Specimen Card and Signed Terms and Condition.
- Photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration
- Photocopy of any one (1) of the government issued identification cards
- For Non-Resident Non-Filipinos

7. When can I start trading?
You can start trading after you have been informed that the account has been activated which usually takes two (2) to three (3) days after submission of the requirements. The account must have an initial deposit before you can start trading.
8. What time does the market start and end?
Market schedule is as follows:
- 9:00am – 9:15am. Pre-open period. Clients can enter, modify and cancel orders but no matching happens
- 9:15am – 9:30am. Pre-open no cancel period. Clients can enter but cannot cancel or modify orders while the opening price is determined
- 9:30am-12:00pm. Market open to Continuous Trading. Orders are matched at the best price. Clients can modify or cancel orders as long as it has not been matched.
- 12:00pm-1:30pm. Market Recess. No matching occurs. Clients cannot post, modify or cancel orders.
- 1:30pm-3:15pm. Afternoon Session. Orders are matched at the best price. Clients can modify or cancel orders as long as it has not been matched.
- 3:15pm-3:20pm. Pre-close no cancel period. Clients can enter but cannot cancel or modify orders while the closing price is determined.
- 3:20pm-3:30pm. Trading at last to Market close. Clients can enter orders at closing price only.
9. How can I post an order?
Orders can be placed by calling the trading floor at +62 2 634-6931 to 35 or your respective broker. You should provide your account number when placing an order.
10. What is the minimum amount of initial investment?
Initial Investment is P150,000.
11. I have a stock certificate of a PSE listed company. How can I sell them?
Trading in the PSE is now in scripless form. Stock certificates will be submitted to the transfer agent for clearing and then lodged to Philippine Depository and Trust Corporation (PDTC) which can take from a week to several weeks depending on the speed of processing.
Schedule of Fees for lodging are as follows:
a. 100php transfer fee per stock
b. 20php cancellation fee per stock certificate
c. 12% VAT on transfer fee and cancellation fee
12. How can I withdraw my funds?
Clients who wish to withdraw funds can call and request for a withdrawal. All withdrawals are settled by cheques. Cheques can be picked up at the office, sent by a messenger or deposited in the indicated bank account in your Customer Account Information Form.
